1. Attend our January Mass Meeting (aka “General Interest Meeting”)
January date TBA + registration forthcoming!
2. Become a Member
The Nashville People’s Budget Coalition is a member-led organization. Members attend monthly or twice-monthly meetings, contribute leadership through participation in one of our committees (political education & comms; community outreach; membership; or steering committee), lead book clubs and study groups, canvass in neighborhoods across Nashville, plan membership activities, attend and/or speak at government meetings, including annual public hearings on the Metro Nashville budget, and more.
If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out the Membership Interest form below. After you have filled out the form, we will reach out to schedule a meeting and discuss next steps, including attending our next Mass Meeting / General Interest Meeting.
3. Knock doors or Phone Bank with us!

After six months of organizing, educating, and engaging community members and city leaders, Metro Nashville allocated $100,000 in June 2025 to lay the foundation for a permanently affordable, decommodified social housing fund like the one proposed in our Housing and Safety for All Plan!
This is a good start — and an important win — but our work isn’t complete until all Nashvillians have access to high-quality, permanently affordable housing and an extensive network of non-police community safety programs and resources.
So, we’re hitting the streets (and phones) again to talk to neighbors about permanently affordable housing & non-police community safety and how we can come together to make them real for all Nashvillians!
We want you to join us!
Why We’re Canvassing
The purpose of our outreach will be to engage and organize Nashvillians directly impacted by housing unaffordability, criminalization, and a lack of authentic community safety.
These outreach efforts are an integral part of our ongoing Housing & Safety for All campaign and are designed to build our collective power to improve life for everyday working class Nashvillians.

More info and sign-up form coming soon!
5. Start a People’s Neighborhood Assembly
We will soon be launching a People’s Neighborhood Assembly effort that invites and equips us to build relationships and power with people in our neighborhood — a Signal or WhatsApp thread, a monthly potluck, a weekly park hangout, a mutual aid effort, or whatever you dream up that builds connection in your community. Join us at an upcoming General Interest Meeting to learn more, and be sure to sign up for our email list for updates. Reach out to us if you would like more direct support!
